I’m not terribly religious, but I had hoped that ‘Frank’ might drag The Church, at least into the 20th Century. The inertia and rebellion is amazing though. He’s not “The Boss”, he’s merely the first among equals. He may lead, as long as it’s where ‘they’ want to go. 😦

I’m glad you did. I have two jokes/stories in my ‘funny file’, written in dialect. They’re amusing (In North America), so I thought I’d try it. As I hoped, it’s humourous, but it’s really a non-valid literary gimmick. Two Italian labourers would converse in Italian, not heavily accented English. I had ‘dees’ where there now are ‘das’, but I kept hearing Jamaican, so I changed them. 🙄

My cat went missing in October 2013. I looked everywhere for her and called the animal shelter. She was no where to be found. It just about killed me. She was just a solid white kitty that was very spoiled. She loved to go outside and hunt. That was her favorite thing to do.

Oh dear! My profound condolences. While pets are not children, they are often valued almost as much, and the pain of losing one can be just as sharp.
None of ours is (intentionally) allowed outside, although one might get closed into the basement storage room overnight. Only the fearless female has got out further than arm’s length. I wrote the story of her search and rescue(s) here. 😯 🙂

Had to read this aloud to get the full effect of the dialect , then rolled around laughing (ROFL as the kids say) and now I have the tube compartment all to myself. It’s an Easter miracle!

Fun and funny. Good dialogue in dialect. you are right though – they would be speaking Italian but who cares it made for a great humorous flash.

I really enjoyed the dialect.
I read it out loud. It became a combination of the Pope and the Godfather.
It also became a little Jewish inflection, because at the end when you wrote “datz all bin tooken care of” I twisted it around to make it sound like “we took care of his tuchas”
which is another way of saying in street English,
we got his ass covered
or
we got his back.
