Flash Fiction #123

THE END – AND A BEGINNING

It finally happened! Earth had been visited.  The worst upset were the religious, who now had proof that Mankind was not alone, and possibly not God’s favorite.

The scientists were ecstatic. These beings had learned our languages from years of spreading radio and TV broadcasts.  Along with the secret of spaceflight, they said they would freely give us other technological marvels.

Until we could sync Wi-Fi with them, or drag cables in, the only way was to enter their ship and take notes. If only they were taller….

Hmmm… methinks that would be a dangerous way to obtain new technological marvels…

I once wrote a Flash Fiction that didn’t get linked to Rochelle’s site, which agrees with you, and states the exact opposite of this one. 😳

Everyone is taller on TV. Then again, to get in the ship would probably require a bucket of axle grease and a shoe horn. Fun stuff this week, sir.

    Keep ’em flyin’!

Nice take on the prompt. I laughed at the poor religious ones that had been proved wrong. But I wonder if entering the ship is a trap for the scientist.

  5. Very inventive, Archon! Ah, if only the aliens would show up. As long as they aren’t “Serving Man” I could use a change of scenery.

while growing up in a very small community, I used to think I was tall. Later I discovered everyone else was short. These days 5’11” isn’t all that tall. Nice story, any chance the aliens can abduct Trump? Maybe use him as a lab rat?

I was 5′ 11″ once upon a time, but age-induced spinal compaction has me down to about 5′ 10″. I gotta watch my weight, or I’ll be my own joke, 5′ 10″ in any direction.
I don’t think even space aliens would want Trump. He does have the ‘rat’ part down well. Maybe they could use him to make Spam. 😳

Humorous piece, they are so technologically advanced but they’re just so small and we haven’t the technology to interact. There was loads about this I liked

I am glad that you liked it. I would love to take all the credit, but, like Isaac Newton, I’m standing on the shoulders of giants, from 60 years of reading science fiction.
One short story I read had Mankind contacted by radio, from incoming aliens. When they arrived, their ship turned out to be about the size of a mosquito. 😳

  8. That sounds suspicious to me. They may be little but that doesn’t mean they’re defenseless or really friendly. Good writing, Archon. 🙂 — Suzanne
