SUNSHINE VITAMIN
Arggh! Turn down the Sun! It’s too bright!
My tongue is asleep….and my teeth itch.
I’m suffering a self-inflicted wound. Whose smart idea was it to drink tequila last night??
Mine?? Doesn’t seem so smart today! Did I think I was 20 again? We can’t party like we did as teens.
My head feels like it’s full of cotton candy. It’s the only thing preventing the pounding ache from splitting it apart.
I can’t think. I could barely dress myself this morning.
Bars should have reverse carding. You’re 62, sir? I’m sorry; you can only order cranberry or prune juice.

I offer another view of Heaven, from the Canadian side.
I have no use for tequila ever since a night in Juarez long, long ago.

I’ve never tried it, but it’s the punch line of a lot of stories. I should try a sample. Maybe the daughter’s got a drunken friend who could spare a shot. 😛
TGIF! Have the best day you can manage. 😀

Dear Archon,
I was going to ask if this was written from personal experience until I read your reply to BrainRants. I felt the pain. One of my favorite hangover lines came from Johnny Carson all those years ago: “You know you’ve had too much when you can’t stand the sound of your socks crashing to the floor.”

Haha, reverse carding! I like that idea except you’d have to implement it at liquor stores, too, because who goes to bars to drink at that age? I don’t!
Good story structure and dialog.

I’d like to implement mandatory Common Sense cards, but there’s not enough of it in the government to foist it on the unwilling public. 😯
Thanx for the nice comment. 🙂

That was a hoot and a half! And, the first time I heard the term “my teeth itch” is from a friend who cannot stand cilantro (or coriander leaves for the Brits, as she is). For one who’s never experienced this, you describe it quite well!
Reverse carding indeed… a loud *guffaw from me upon reading it!

I needed one more line to make the word limit, (and another joke always helps) so I stole one from a ’50s/60s Shelley Berman comedy album. He does 6/7 minutes about a hangover that will have you on the floor. 😆

I agree with Dale this was a hoot. Loved the idea of reverse carding, although you would think as we get older we would get wiser.

If we were all that wise, we wouldn’t get old 😉 😯 Thanx for the visit. 🙂

I’ve had this sort of experience but with Ouzo. At the time I thought the name too benign, it could be a children’s cartoon character, couldn’t hurt a fly, in the morning I thought it should be re-named Uzi, like the gun.

At least tequila is honest. A dead worm at the bottom of the bottle – who could miss that warning? Ouzo….could be rice pudding, although, beware of what the Japanese have done with distilled rice. Hai Karate! 😳

Dang, 62 and partying! I wondered if it was an old rock star’s diary.

Oh yeah. Rockin’….and staggering and stumbling – and that was before the
pain medicationtequila. 😉 😛LikeLike
The imagery is just perfect. Love the way you describe the sensation on the tongue and teeth, it made me cringe with sympathy.

You’d think that a nasty hangover like this would have people quitting drinking. It just spurs the search for a better hangover remedy. 😯

I thought wisdom was a by-product of age (and I have thus learned through the years that it is not always so).I like the card idea. I enjoyed the story. 🙂

Reverse carding is one of the best ideas I’ve ever heard!

More and more, it seems like a great idea, which is why I can’t suggest it to any level of Government. Not one of them has ever had a great idea, or knows what to do with one, if someone else has one. Oh well. 😯

The better the idea, the less likely it’ll be implemented by the government. 😉
