EASY RIDER
Hurry up, already. We’ll be late for lecture. Why don’t you buy an electric moped?
There was no use saying it out loud. It was always the same. It took Lenny as long as it took, almost ten minutes.
In that amount of time, we could have walked across campus and got a coffee with the blonde twins.
I really don’t understand some people’s enthralment with Steampunk. What genius builds his own steam-powered bicycle, and carries coal around in his backpack? Where do you even buy coal??
Finally, like the Little Engine – I think I can, I think I can….

Go to Rochelle’s Addicted to Purple site and use her Wednesday photo as a prompt to write a complete 100 word story.
Steampunk? That is the first time I have read a flash fiction piece with Steampunk referenced in it. Very inventive, Archon.

Love it! 🙂 ❤ The whole idea of a steam bike is sooo cool! Makes me want to hop on and give it a spin. Hmm, do I still have that bucket of coal I got for Christmas….?

For stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment, you can have the bucket that I got. 😛

Good one! The “cool dude” and his antique-enthralled foil.

For some reason your story made me think of Willie Wonka. 🙂

I’ve never read it, nor watched either movie. I’ll have to take your word for it. It’s good to have your word here, though. 😀

The Little Engine That Could – are you really old enough to quote that?

Sadly, honestly, yes. I turn 73 this year (I hope). I was born in 1944, and my Mother read this to me in the late ’40s. It was published in 1930.
I thought about including ‘That Could,’ but I’d have had to play with the word count. I figured that anyone who got it didn’t need the extra.
Thanx for reading, and remembering. 🙂

Ha, nice take on the prompt. Enjoyed this story.

Thanx. Glad you liked it. I got the theme suggestion from my son, who’s perhaps even more skewed than I am. 😛

I think it’s a determined genius who carries coal in his backpack. Absolutely love the idea of a steam punk bicycle. Really enjoyed reading.

I don’t think that we’ve determined just exactly what Lenny is. Opinions vary. My opinion is that it was nice of you to stop around and comment. 🙂

Thanx, guy. Did the Americans throw you back? Are you coming or going? Often I don’t know, about myself. You may have noted that I
blamedcredited Shimoniac with the theme. 😛LikeLike
