He’d thought through this move and job change well…. At least he thought he’d thought it through well. More money, better perks, better advancement chances – yup! Best of all, no more Pennsylvania winters, so cold they froze his ballpoint pens off, and shovelling snow, drifted as high as an elephant’s aah….. eye.
Only after moving did he think – if Atlanta’s that warm in the winter, how hot is it in the summer?? Don’t Georgia houses automatically come with air-conditioning? Praise Saint George Carrier! What was his promised installation date again?? He might have to sleep in the office until then. 😯

Me too. A tour guide explained to the wife and I, how homes in Charleston were built to take advantage of every breeze, but at least Charleston gets some sea breezes. Atlanta??…. 😯

Some of us are never happy, unless we have something to complain about. I think he’ll keep his cool.
I chose the Redbone version because I find his performances strangely attractive. He’s an oddity, and an anachronism. I saw him with Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show several times. Bessie Smith, or Louis Prima and Keely Smith’s versions are as good or better. 🙂

If only we could mix the two weathers together. Then again, alternatively boiled and freeze dried. No thanks I’m staying in Yorkshire, and putting up with rain, rain, rain and rain again.🙂

Here in Southern Ontario, I’d settle for rain, rain, rain. On April 14th, my rain got thick and white, and there’s 3/4 of an inch of it lying on my deck and sidewalks. 😯

I don’t know what surface traffic is like in Atlanta. I’ve only been through on I-75 several times. The first time, I got to witness a serious rear-ender in the next lane. About ten years ago, we came in from Augusta, and went 1/4 way around on the ring-road, to go north on I-75….at rush-hour! I think the wife’s still got her hands over her eyes. 😳

Aw, Pennsylvania’s not that bad 🙂 We actually had a mild winter until March came along, and April is being rather fickle, too. It was 80 degrees here on Friday and Saturday, back down to 40 yesterday and today. If you don’t like the weather, just wait a minute.

Sorry for the delay in replying to your comment. I went to do some research for my answer and got caught in an ice storm. We live about 90 miles north of Erie, PA, so our weather is quite similar.
I plan to publish a post around June 18, which includes a trip down and up on PA 19, small towns including Du Bois, a Weyerhaeuser company town, a Pittsburgh Glass company town, and the Johnstown flood. Please stop by and leave your impression of it. 🙂

I have never spent much time in that area–we’re always on our way to or from somewhere else when we pass through that end of the state. Lots of interesting things out there, though.
