Flash Fiction #216

Foorward and Back

It’s The Booze Talkin’

Thanx for driving me home, buddy. I appears to be a little tipsy.

Yer the designated driver, an’ I’m the designated drunk.

It’s déjà vu all over again.

Haven’t we been down this street before?

Did you know that a goldfish has a three second attention span?

Did I mention that it’s déjà vu all over again?

I was gonna go home, but I changed my mind an’ turned around ‘cuz I met Bruce Springsteen at the bar. He was walkin’ in, when I was walkin’ out.

Our Glory Days of boozin’ are over, ‘cuz it makes us talk stoopid.

  2. I quit drinking 25 years ago in 1994. Ozzy Osbourne was right when he said sobriety is boring most days.

  4. Sounds like my ex, only for him it was drugs. You nailed it in brilliant phrases.

  5. Do you know the people who write these stories? Can anyone write them? I would like to write one this year.

I don’t know them, but I’ve been submitting Flash Fictions here for about 5 years – hence #216. Anyone is welcome to join and submit – the more the merrier. There have been as many as 75 or 80 writers each week, but currently there’s only about 40. Just click on the Addicted to Purple link, and go to Rochelle’s site. She posts a new weekly photo each Wednesday at 3:30 AM, EST. If you need/want any more details, just yell. Good luck. 😀

Stuff you can laugh about later. He has a designated driver so he’s not that stoopid.

I was just laughing with my daughter about the night that she was my designated driver, and she thought that I was fine…. and left early. 😳
