Flash Fiction #223

Inspiration

WHERE’S WALDO?

What’s here? Typewriter? Check. As old as me, but in better shape.
Coffee to rev me up – wine to smooth me out.
Notepad and pencil. Check.
Dictionary? Bah, I know the meaning of every word.
Enough light for old eyes. Cozy work desk!
Something’s missing!

I know! Two things – me…. and Inspiration.
What’s this??! Rochelle wrote two FFs? So, that’s where MY inspiration went. Erato, you traitor! I’m gonna binge watch The Masked Singer till you get back. Sarah Palin says her performance was the craziest thing she’s ever done. She apparently forgets, “I can see Russia from my house.” 😳

Go to Rochelle’s Addicted to Purple site and use her Wednesday photo as a prompt to write a complete 100 word story.

And even though you claim you couldn’t write, and yet you did. Kudos for finding the story hidden from your inspiration.

And I’m afraid to ask, can Sarah Palin actually sing?

I don’t really know. We don’t have “television” because we cut the cable (actually satellite) several years ago. If it’s available on Netflix or YouTube, I don’t want to know. It leaves me more time to write ‘fiction.’ 🙂

Pfft. If you go missing, I’ll send out a search party.

You’ll have to send a drone, now that tRump has put soldiers on our border, searching for Covid19 virus. I’ll be the big round blob, hiding behind the water tower.
Maybe McCheesehead can seal a couple of spots in Quebec, Manitoba, and B.C. where undocumented aliens have been leaking in. Trudeau sure hasn’t. 😛

Entertaining entry. The Sarah Palin comment is a nice finish.

  5. Dear Archon,

To quote Chief Dan George, “Some days the magic works and some days it doesn’t. ” 😉

    Shalom and stay well,

Quite a responsibility keeping watch on Russia, perhaps the inspiration will appear in the form of a hoard of galloping Cossacks.I liked the idea of a typewriter as old as me, but in better shape. I visited a museum (Oh those days when you were allowed out) and saw an old fashioned birth certificate – exactly like mine. My first car a Ford Anglia was also on display – somehow I didn’t feel old as memories of my youth were rekindled.

Palin should have kept an eye on her daughter, and her marriage, instead of Russia and her prayer book. 😳
About 1980, my mother hauled out her birth certificate – a foolscap sheet, 8-1/2 X 13 – and found that, for 70 years, she had “officially” been spelling her name wrong. To the government, she was not ‘Jean,’ but Gean.
A couple of my first cars were a ’52 Morris, and a ’56 Austin, and this was in Southern Ontario. Thanx for accompanying me down memory lane. 🙂
