What was the name of that stuff we saw advertised back in Illinois, that’s supposed to prevent ‘travellers’ diarrhea’? Duckitall?? Dukerol!! I thought that was just if you went to, like, Thailand. I didn’t know about a bad fish taco in Redlands.
You go ahead with that walking tour of the homes of the stars. My tour’s going to be sitting.

I saw Dukerol advertised a couple of days before the original challenge, so I worked it into this Flash Fiction. In the six years since, I have never heard it mentioned again. 😳

I love all things Tex-Mex. We’re having beef and bean burritos tomorrow. But I just can’t bring myself to try fish tacos. Fish and chips – I love all French fries – fish and rice – okay. Fish and guacamole and salsa just doesn’t seem right. 😯

Only occasionally do I add ketchup, if I dine-in at McDonalds. I prefer malt vinegar, and carry little plasti-paks in the car, in case particular businesses don’t have it.. I like gravy on fries sometimes, and have found who uses good quality, and who only has the ‘add water to chemicals’ type. Being Canadian, I also often have poutine – fries and gravy and cheese curds or shredded mozzarella. 😀 🌯

Most people here have their fries with chili sauce. It’s an asian thing. I’ve not tried malt vinegar or poutine though. My girls would love mozzarella but it’s very expensive here. (“⌒∇⌒”)

Thanks for the warning about the fish taco. Sometimes the stomach doesn’t travel well – we tend to trust holiday food and we know we should not touch that delicious looking – whatever it is?

I’ve never had this problem, because I’ve never traveled far, nor am I adventurous with food. Give me what I’m used to. If God wanted us to eat kimchi, why did He invent McDonalds? That said, I’ve been in a KFC that served chicken with mashed potatoes. 😳 They had French fries, but they had to be ordered in addition, separately. 😛

Oh dear, what an awful way to spend one’s vacation. Maybe a lesson here is to not eat any foods that are different from your normal routine, but hey, where’s the fun in that?

I’m sure that he’ll be better tomorrow, when he’s so empty there’s an echo. While uncomfortable, my son says that he doesn’t worry till his forehead feels like it’s caving in. 😉

Thanx! We also keep handy, an OTC named Buscopan. Different from Immodium and its kaolin-clay relatives which absorb and solidify excess internal fluids, Buscopan is a sedative for the muscles which cause bowel spasms. I hope you never need this information. 🙂
