WHO’S RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS MESS?

Christian Apologists tie themselves in philosophical knots, trying to justify and validate God’s actions.

The best minds will tell you that, when a man has begotten a child, he is morally bound to tenderly care for it, protect it from hurt, shield it from disease, clothe it, feed it, bear with its waywardness, lay no hand upon it save in kindness and for its own good, and never in any case inflict upon it a wanton cruelty.

God’s treatment of His Earthly children, every day and every night, is the exact opposite of all that, yet these ‘best minds’ warmly justify these crimes, condone them, excuse them, and indignantly refuse to regard them as crimes at all, when HE commits them.

God banished Adam and Eve from the Garden, and eventually assassinated them.  All for disobeying a command which He had no right to utter.  He did not stop there.  He has one code of morals for Himself, and quite another for His children.  He requires His children to deal justly – and gently – with offenders, forgiving them 77 times, whereas He deals neither justly nor gently with anyone.

He did not forgive the ignorant and thoughtless first pair of juveniles, even their first offense, and say, “You may go free this time, and I will give you another chance.”  He continues to punish their children’s children.  In mild ways??  No, in atrocious ways!!

The world calls Him The All-Just, The All-Righteous, The All-Good, The All-Merciful, The All-Forgiving, The All-Truthful, The All-Loving, The Source Of All Morality.  These sarcasms are uttered daily, all over the world.  But not as conscious sarcasms: no, they are meant seriously, and uttered without a smile.

Genesis 3: 17 states, But from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.  And yet, the Bible states at Genesis 5:5 that Adam was 930 years old when he died. “So all the days of Adam’s life amounted to 930 years, and then he died.”

According to Apologetics logic, Adam and Eve should have been completely confounded and confused by this threat of death.  Until The Fall – the first sin – there was no death.  Nothing had died.  They had no experience – nothing to reference it to.  A threat of death would be as incomprehensible to them as Big Bang Theory, or Evolution, is to modern Apologists and science-deniers.

It cannot be proved that “A Creator” does not exist, nor some kind of God, but I can prove that the capricious, spiteful, vindictive “God” described and defined above, definitely does not exist.  Any Being who would act like this resembles the bizarre Q character from Star Trek, but without the puckish sense of humor, making Q seem benign and kindly.   😯

Hmmm…after reading this they will probably say, “That’s why we have the New Testament and in John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son….”. Perhaps some things are beyond our comprehension. We’re just a tiny creation in this cosmos. 🙄😻🌈

To offer the New Testament, without including the Old Testament, ignores Original Sin, Divine salvation, fulfilled prophesies, and things like the Ten Commandments – which are followed by 163 other commandments – including ones which prohibit the eating of shellfish, and the wearing of clothing with mixed fabrics – but say nothing against slavery. If God wrote the Bible, or had it written, He is a complete failure at clear communication. 😛

So, god sacrificed his himself son to save us from himself, but it’s not really a sacrifice if you can just create a replacement with no effort.

  4. these theists also always want to prate that this god gave us morality. It didn’t. It wanted humans ignorant. Eve gave us morality, if one wants to believe the silly story.

It also begs the question, “What does a supposedly omnibenevolent being have to fear from humans who know what good and evil are?”

That takes me to the Tower of Babel story, where God supposedly says, If we let them do this, they will become just like us. Doesn’t sound omnibenevolent to me! More like a tyrant working hard to keep the peasants in their place. 👿

Underlying the creation story is a mystery, i.e., if it were true, then why did God create man? Amusement? Loneliness? Also, if God is all-powerful, why then is there evil and why are disasters like plagues, earthquakes and droughts allowed? It all falls apart when questioned.

Miriam Webster’s definition of “faith”, 2 b (1): firm belief in something for which there is no proof.

It’s all ridiculous. Why anyone believes any of his stuff is beyond me. If there is a creative force, it is science and we simply don’t understand it yet. It’s not supernatural and it surely isn’t the gods of the Bible or any other religious book or dogma.

Desperation, egotism, herd instinct, insecurity – all wrapped up in pious cognitive dissonance. A ‘Creator’ does not equal a ‘God,’ who would care for and about us, want something for and from us, do things with and to us, like actually answer prayers and perform miracles. Many of the religious claim that “He” does, but offer no convincing evidence. 😳

Ever read Job’s dilemma? “I spoke once, but I have no answer– twice, but I will say no more.” God is.
So I give him the benefit of the doubt- that he took responsibility for this tragic mess in the cross of Christ.

WOW!! A flying double back-flip through a flaming hoop! 😳
Thank you for the entertaining theosophical gymnastics, defending a God who shouldn’t need defending. Ironically your comment is largely true. There is considerable doubt.
If “He” does exist – something that I and millions of others find no convincing evidence for – He is responsible for many actions that would be considered sins if committed by humans, and for creating a ridiculous loophole solution to a problem that He caused Himself. 😯

To me, the universe was purposely created from chaos. Beauty, variety, vastness, order. Out of chaos. And it appears we prefer “this mess!” So I need not defend God.
Jesus Christ is the ‘express image of God:’ “If you’ve seen me you’ve seen the Father.” He defended God his whole life. He defended me on the cross; now I’m defending him.

  9. Blame those whom love their parasitic nature. History intentionally hides heritage so well. I blame those roman counsels in 325.

All the descendants of vlad the impailer go together to create the foundation of the fullness of 3000+ religions, which all live in the minds of those who need to be accepted by the mob with narrative…
